What if Workplace Well-Being Was Written Together?

Driven by the insights from our latest QWL (Quality of Work Life) survey sent to our employees, a brand-new Health and Safety Committee has just been launched. The objective is to continuously enhance our teams' experience by relying directly on their feedback. Joint and inclusive, this committee brings together management, consultants, and internal teams to co-create a work environment that is safer, more stimulating, and more fulfilling.

Empowering Action: A Certified and Committed Committee

"Taking care of our teams means looking after both their physical safety and their psychological health. Born from an essential collaboration between employees and management, this committee is our lever to take action and provide everyone with a healthy and safe work environment at KLB." — Mathilde Pollart, HR Manager at KLB | Canada

To maximize the impact of our initiatives, every committee member has already completed a certified training program with the CNESST (Commission des normes, de l'équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail). This Quebec public organization equips us with the regulatory and practical tools needed to turn our ambitions into concrete actions on the ground.

Caring for Our Talents, Wherever They Are: The HSC Commitments

Our initiatives are built on a dual human dynamic: on one side, our consultants in the field at the heart of our clients' operations; on the other, our internal teams who drive the group forward from our offices. Given these diverse work environments, creating this HSC materializes our commitment to protecting and supporting all our employees in their daily professional lives.

This committee delivers real value through major commitments:

  • Fostering a prevention culture "beyond our walls": for our consultants on assignment, the committee is committed to rolling out initiatives soon to prevent risks related to commuting, mental workload, and ergonomics for mobile workstations.

  • Optimizing the daily lives of our internal teams: our offices must be a healthy place to live and work. The committee is looking closely at the quality of work life at headquarters, including workspace layout, preventing sedentary behavior, and hosting awareness workshops (mental health, first aid...).

From Dialogue to Impact: The New Face of Our QWL Commitment

For this launch, we have targeted priority actions around three main pillars: prevention, work-mode adaptability, and emergency responsiveness.

"To me, health and safety at work is primarily about listening and human connection. As a committee representative, I want to be a trusted contact point for each of my colleagues. I am fully invested in ensuring that everyone, whether in the field or at the office, has a healthy, pleasant environment conducive to their personal growth." — Gwenola Coquelle, Health and Safety Representative

Here are our first concrete projects:

  • Creating dedicated alert and communication channels: To foster proximity with our field consultants, we want to reinvent remote connection by implementing two tools: a channel for sharing best practices and a secure alert form. This allows urgent issues to be escalated to the committee, ensuring maximum responsiveness.

  • Preventing Psychosocial Risks (PSR): We will deploy targeted initiatives to measure and prevent stress. The goal is clear: defuse these situations proactively rather than reacting to them after they happen.

  • Ergonomics and assignment support: We will study workstation ergonomics both in the office and during remote work. Our priority is to provide an optimal working framework to support our talents' well-being and the success of their assignments.

  • Workplace First Aid training: Finally, safety relies on shared skills. With the support of the CNESST, we have already trained several first-aid responders within our teams so that everyone has the right reflexes.

In parallel, an in-depth study of occupational risks is currently being conducted by the HSC members to target the next steps to be taken.

Setting up this HSC goes far beyond a simple regulatory requirement. It allows us to approach occupational health from a responsible, collaborative, and preventative perspective. Taking care of our employees today also means reaffirming our commitment to our future talents: at KLB, being part of the adventure means the assurance of growing within a framework that supports everyone’s development.
