From Analysis to Deployment: The KLB Approach for Real Progress in Your Procurement Transformation Projects

We all know it: on paper, any transformation plan seems obvious. But reality is quite different as soon as you take action. On the ground, execution makes all the difference. At KLB, we don’t stop at delivering a recommendation report. We select the expert who matches your needs and integrate them into your teams so that your challenges finally turn into tangible results.

Whether it’s an international merger, process structuring, or a digital shift, a lack of resources or internal expertise should not hold back your ambitions. Our strength lies in the outsourcing of your support functions (BPO), with a tailor-made approach. We are not an external provider observing the situation from afar: our consultants get fully involved and immerse themselves in your corporate culture to drive your projects from the inside. Here are three concrete cases of our operational approach.

Succeeding in the Challenge of an International Acquisition

Imagine you have just acquired a company in the United States. It’s a strategic opportunity, but also a real challenge to align procurement processes that have nothing in common. This is precisely the issue recently encountered by one of our clients, a leader in the pharmaceutical sector based in Spain, who needed immediate reinforcement for its indirect procurement department following this acquisition.

We took charge of selecting and recruiting a specialized procurement profile to strengthen the internal team. Today, Maria Fernanda works in full immersion with the Category Managers to design a global procurement process and implement it in the new American subsidiary. Thanks to this support, the company moved away from its scattered local models to adopt a seamless and significantly more efficient global procurement process.

"Integrating a new acquisition in the United States is a major strategic challenge. By working directly with Category Managers to design a global procurement process, we transform scattered local models into a seamless and truly effective organization on a global scale."  – Maria Fernanda

Guaranteeing Transformation Success Through the Human Element

You can implement the best technology on the market, but if your team doesn't embrace it, the project will never reach its goals. This was the challenge for another of our pharmaceutical clients in Spain: a global Procurement department transformation project was underway, but the risk of rejection was high because the teams didn't always understand the meaning of the change.

We recruited an expert who took on the role of Change Management Lead. Embedded at the heart of the project, Ainhoa led communication and change management by tailoring messages to each business line and activating internal ambassadors to ensure everyone understood the "why" behind this evolution. Today, we see strong team alignment and increased involvement. The overall project is now moving forward much more smoothly.

"For a global transformation to succeed, tools are not enough: teams must own the change. By working on communication and engagement from the inside, we ensure that every employee understands the purpose of the project to guarantee a smooth transition."  – Ainhoa

Building a Solid Structure from Scratch

Some long-standing companies, such as in the railway sector, are sometimes required to completely overhaul their processes and tools in the face of evolving needs and technologies. Without a defined procurement structure, our client was exposed to inefficiency risks and struggled to professionalize the function.

Our engineer, Federico, took on the task of building the Procurement function starting from a blank page. He defined the processes, roles, and supplier selection criteria from A to Z, while integrating the constraints and specificities of the public sector. The client now has a clear and structured procurement function. They have gained decision-making capacity, reduced operational risks, and laid the groundwork for optimized future negotiations.

"Building a procurement function from scratch in a sector with heavy public constraints requires meticulous attention. Starting from zero is a unique opportunity to define solid processes and negotiation bases that secure the company's future."  – Federico

Growing Together, Without Complication

Beyond business processes, what defines KLB is our ability to be a full member of your work team. Whatever your sector, our vision remains the same: putting our experience and skills, with commitment and proximity, at the service of your objectives to accelerate your growth.
